Nikons D5000 already wonderful digital SLR lineup gets a new Nikon D5000. The D5000 is out there in two configurations, at least from Nikon body only and a kit with the eighteen-55mm VR lens out there as a kit with the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens. The Nikon D5000 can be the first video-recording digital SLR to ship with an articulating LCD.
The D5000 swaps the 10.2 Megapixel CCD of its predecessor (and the D40x) for the identical 12.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor featured on the Nikon D90. As such the D5000 conjointly offers the same base sensitivity vary of 200-3200 ISO with Lo-1 and Hi-1 options extending it to one hundred and 6400 ISO respectively. A vibrating low pass filter and Nikon’s Airflow system combat dust.
Other options from the D90 create it into the Nikon D5000, together with Auto Active D-Lighting, In-camera retouching, and Picture Control. The Nikon D5000's shutter is expected to last 100,000 cycles, and a brand new Quiet Unharness Mode reduces shutter noise for use in terribly quiet situations.
The D5000 uses a revised version of the battery from the D40 and D60. It's backwards compatible and can be used in the older cameras and with the identical charger. The new EN-EL9a has an increased capacity of 7.8Wh, compared to the 7.2Wh rating of the old EN-EL9. Nikon rates the D5000's EN-EL9a lithium-ion battery for 510 shots.
